Reflecting on my year is a cherished ritual. It's a time to rewind, assess my life, and measure my personal growth and achievements. It's a journey of self-discovery, where I ponder my goals, dreams, and the changes I've made to become a better version of myself.

Year of the Dragon

On the Chinese New Year, we joyfully welcomed the Year of the Dragon in Vancouver's Chinatown, filled with hope for the year ahead. Even the rain on the day of the Grand Parade couldn't dampen our spirits as we reveled in the colorful and joyful festivity. This celebration brings us closer to our cultural roots and fosters a sense of unity.

The 50th Annual Lunar New Year celebration was a significant milestone for the Chinese community. The Year of the Dragon, a symbol of power and luck in Chinese culture, was particularly special as it aligns with my Father's and eldest sister's animal sign. With its double dragon energy, our family shared the joy and prosperity of this auspicious year with our loved ones.

Historical Family Day

One of Canada's most significant holidays is the Family Day celebration. On February 19, 2024, we traveled to Fort Langley to visit and explore its historical site. This day is about relaxation and enjoyment, reinforcing our family values, and creating cherished memories we will always hold dear.

It's a time to relax and enjoy each other's company, reinforcing our family values and creating cherished memories we will always hold dear.

We spent a day strolling around and going to shops to look for local products. In one of the shops we visited, I encountered a lady who was into helping people find the right gemstone for them. It's a store where you can find different stones. There are rough stones and polished ones ready to be cleansed by putting them in a singing bowl.

I wish my family the best and share my good life with them. I share my happiness, joy, and prosperity with them. That's what truly matters as I ponder on a Family Day, a time to cherish and be grateful for the love and support of our family, a bond that brings warmth and meaning to our lives.

Harrison Tulip Festival

The Spring of 2024 was an opportunity to travel and see a vast field of colorful and beautiful tulips set against a snow-capped mountain as a backdrop.

Our first tulip festival was in Chilliwack, but in 2024, they relocated to Harrison for a more considerable flower festival experience. It's about an hour's travel from home, and we get enchanted by nature's bloom.

The Harrison Tulip Festival in Aggasiz is breathtaking, among the largest in British Columbia and Canada. The millions of Tulips planted on 35-acre farmland create a romantic and awe-inspiring springtime destination, a testament to the beauty and wonder of nature that leaves us with a day worth reminiscing about.

Lovely Canada Day

The start of summer 2024 was jubilant as we celebrated Canada Day on July 1. It's a day that fills every Canadian heart with pride, marking the anniversary of the establishment of the Dominion of Canada, which consisted of four original provinces.

It was a happy moment to be with Canadians of different colors, celebrating with joy and pride the country's roots and diversity. We enjoyed listening to Indigenous music, musical presentations, and people's lively self-expression.

It's good to know the history of Canada, the land I've chosen to live in, and the country that welcomed me with a higher degree of freedom, peace, and quality of life.

Birthday at Manning Park

Before summer 2024 ended, we drove about three hours to celebrate my birthday at Manning Park in the Cascade Mountains south of British Columbia. It's a vast park with more than 83 thousand hectares of wilderness.

We stayed at the Cold Spring Campground, where we enjoyed the serenity of nature away from the noise and chaos of city life. Just a few steps from our tent, we bathed in the clear and cold waters of the Similkameen River, and it was refreshing.

We climbed up the hill on Cascade Lookout, which overlooks the surrounding mountains and lake from its peak. Feeding the birds and squirrels was fun as they got close when the hand was extended with some nuts.

Our visit to nearby Lightning Lake was enjoyable. We saw people having a good time on the waters as they enjoyed swimming and paddle-boarding. We set up a beach tent and sat on a chair while enjoying a snack and sightseeing. It is pure joy to be in the lake while watching the waves and enjoying the warm summer breeze.

I love celebrating my birthday in a natural environment as it gives me time to introspect and reminisce about life's happy moments. It's also a good time to be grateful for a meaningful life while looking forward to a better future.

Holidays in Whistler

One of the best holidays of 2024 was a winter holiday in Whistler, a mountain village resort that's a world-renowned ski resort and holiday destination.

We had a snowshoeing experience at Callaghan Valley. It snowed heavily for about an hour and a half while we trekked a 1.9 km trail. It was a great forest bathing experience that healed the body, mind, and Spirit.

Spending a white Christmas while on holiday was a magical experience. The village became a Christmas village, where people enjoyed playing in the snow. We had fun and hope to return in a different season for another level of experience.

That sums up how great 2024 is and how adventurous we have become. When we push ourselves beyond our limits, we become unstoppable in making things happen, one adventure at a time.

The Christmas season brings wonderful experiences and is always in our hearts. The past two years of Christmas in Canada were memorable as they gave the season a different meaning and perspective.

We're not having a white Christmas in Metro Vancouver for this year since we didn't have a snowfall except in the Mountain resorts of North Vancouver. We had a great time in Mt. Seymour on my first Christmas here in Canada, so this time, we traveled a bit farther to experience a white Christmas in
a mountain resort and village. This time we spent a holiday in Whistler!

I've always been fascinated and dreaming about celebrating a white Christmas, so we'll be experiencing the village of Whistler as it turns into a wonderful Christmas winter wonderland.

In addition to Vancouver, Whistler hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics, so we spent time in the Olympic Village and took photos with the Olympic logo. Just behind the Olympic logo is an ice skating rink where everyone has fun.

Whistler is a world-renowned destination for snow adventures and is known as the top ski destination in North America and the world. We had to experience the fun, so we took a gondola ride to reach the first jump-off station, where we enjoyed watching the ski adventure. Skiing is fun to watch. I wish to take a lesson next time to join the ski adventure.

One of the most unforgettable experiences was joining a medicine trail snowshoe adventure on Christmas day. It was a great way to recharge and reconnect with nature as we traveled to old-growth forests with our tour guide, Melanie, a French Canadian Botanist. Mel is knowledgeable and passionate about the Whistler wilderness. I connected with her as she shared about forest bathing and its benefits. I told her I had blogged about 'forest bathing,' shinrin Roku in Japanese. It was a unique experience, feeling the snow crunch under my snowshoes and the crisp air filling my lungs. I was indeed 'bathing in the forest.'

"This is my first real forest bathing, as we truly bathe in the forest," I told her.

The snowshoe adventure starts with a 20-minute bus ride to Callaghan Valley, where Mel was our driver and guide. We share the bus trip with other adventurers who are into snowmobiling and dog sledding, and they have their guides.

It was about an hour and a half of snowshoeing in the wilderness, with several stops for Mel to share fantastic real-life stories about the trees and plants. Just before we got close to our starting point, Mel shared that the totem pole is believed to be a portal, and we have to set out a wish before we pass through it.

Mel emphasized that the power of manifestation lies in genuinely believing it will happen. She always reminds us of our intentions so we get the best results.

As we ended the snowshoe adventure, Mel offered tea to warm up before we got back to the bus for another trip back to the town center.  That was an enjoyable experience, and I learned some information from Mel about the temperate rainforest that we live in.

The Whistler village is alive, and the shimmering Christmas lights on the trees add a magical experience as we pass through the cobblestone streets. The local shops and restaurants were all decked out for the holidays, and we even learned some of the local Christmas traditions, like the lighting of the village Christmas tree and the carolers singing in the streets.

As we returned to our cozy Airbnb room, we established a heartwarming tradition of sharing our travel stories and discussing our future goals over cups of cafe mocha and hot chocolate. These moments of reflection and inspiration, fueled by our travel experiences, have become a source of joy and motivation for us. They help us visualize our future goals and dreams, filling us with a sense of purpose and excitement.

On the third day of our stay, we were greeted with a fresh snowfall early in the morning. We anticipated that, and we're glad it happened before returning home. Before breakfast, we spent an hour walking around the Olympic Park, where everyone enjoyed the fresh snowfall. Families with little kids played in the snow, building snowmen, and others played ice skating. It was fun to see happy faces full of excitement and joy.

Our holidays in Whistler were truly magical. The vibrant town transformed into a Christmas village in wintertime, and it was a sight to behold. The energy and festive spirit were infectious. We left with a desire to return in another season, eager for a different experience and a higher level of adventure. The thought of experiencing Whistler in the summer, with its lush greenery and outdoor activities, or in the fall, with its vibrant foliage, fills us with anticipation and excitement.

We'll always have a Merry Christmas, and the joyous holiday season brings warmth and joy for an extraordinary Whistler experience that's truly a Christmas in our hearts.

As I celebrate another year of life, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude. This is a time for introspection, a moment to pause and consider my life's path and the possibilities that lie ahead.

With the promise of a long weekend, we embarked on a journey of discovery, heading towards a provincial park just a few hours from home. It was a three-day adventure, a chance to heal and rejuvenate under the warm sun.

We stayed at Coldspring Campground in Manning Park. This peaceful campsite, nestled near the river, offered a serene environment just a few steps from where we set up our tent and camping essentials. The sound of the river and the rustling of the trees provided a soothing backdrop to our stay.

Manning Park covers over 83 thousand hectares and has five Campgrounds and more than 400 campsites. It's one of British Columbia, Canada's most popular all-season destinations.

We visited some fantastic tourist spots, like the Cascade Lookout, which, at a higher elevation, offers 360-degree views of the Cascade Mountains between Canada and the US border.

The mountain views were nothing short of breathtaking, with the lush greenery of the evergreen trees adding to the natural beauty. Seeing eagles soaring high, squirrels hopping, and birds chirping was a testament to the vibrant life in these surroundings.

The exhilarating 15-minute journey to the summit was incredible. That's why I always love the peak; it feels like being victorious. There, we feel good and develop a higher vision of what we can accomplish in life.

Our Soulful Sunday moment was spent in Lightning Park near Manning Park Resort. It's a go-to spot for families to enjoy the vibrant ambiance and gleaming lake waters.

Favorite water activities in summer include kayaking, stand-up paddling, fishing, and swimming. Adjacent is the Skyview and Lightning Lake campground, which is a 5-minute drive away from where we stay in Coldspring Campground.

We set up a beach shade canopy and chairs and spent time facing the lake while overseeing different water activities that people enjoy.

The summer heat was intense, and it was good to get a refreshing breeze off the lake while breathing out all worries and aches and getting revitalized.

We enjoy grilling fish and sweet corn at our campsite for dinner. This is something you should not miss while camping.

To warm up on a cool evening, it feels good to be around a bonfire, watching the firewood get burned until the fire is out. We had some s'mores while sharing light stories.

Just before we ended the night and headed to our sleeping tent, we had a great time stargazing and being awed by other celestial bodies. It's my first time here to see a flashing meteor promptly for a birthday wish.

That was a memorable birthday celebration. I enjoyed being outdoors and in nature. I love the camping vibe and had the fun moments for making summer memories.
Life is good, and we always enjoy it and celebrate it. We gaze for the stars, dream it, and live it.

As I celebrate the Lunar New Year of 2024, I desire to be fearless and feisty. I must leave the energy of living in fear to unblock energies leading to success and prosperity.

This year's Lunar New Year is special as we celebrate Vancouver's 50th Annual Lunar New Year Parade. Thousands of spectators participated and attended this colorful and festive event.

As I immerse myself in the vibrant celebrations of Vancouver's 50th Annual Lunar New Year Parade, I am struck by the profound sense of community and inclusivity in Chinatown. This event transcends cultural boundaries, uniting people from diverse backgrounds in a shared experience of joy and excitement. Whether it's their first Lunar New Year or a familiar tradition, everyone is welcomed and feels the blessings of the Deity or Supreme Being.

It's the enthusiasm to feel connected to a unique and beautiful culture. It's the eagerness to learn and understand about a strong and vibrant culture.

This year, as we welcome the auspicious Wood Dragon, I am reminded of the profound influence of a positive mindset. In Chinese beliefs, the Wood Dragon is the luckiest of all the animal signs, symbolizing high luck and prosperity. This resonates deeply with me, as I have experienced firsthand the power of a positive mindset in attracting positive manifestations.

Over the years, I have celebrated the Lunar New Year with joy and anticipation. Each celebration has been a testament to the power of positive manifestations in starting the year on a hopeful note. From new beginnings to auspicious celebrations, each Lunar New Year has brought its unique blessings and lessons.

I've learned to integrate cultural beliefs that are not unknown to me. It makes me happy to accept something new and believe in myself when it inspires positivity in those who believe.

My desire for this year is about the most valuable thing; to have the willpower to achieve my greatest desires and destiny. Luck and prosperity happen when I fight what's unwanted and unleash the fire within to bring out the best in me.

The westernmost province of Canada, British Columbia, is truly fascinating. I've seen some of its most breathtaking places worth visiting. I enjoyed the journey to these places and was inspired by nature and the people.

The year 2023 wasn't all about travel. It's been a roller coaster of events and a swing of emotions. Things happen swiftly and suddenly. We had joy on cloud nine and seasons in the sun.

Chinese New Year in Vancouver

We had a simple New Year's Eve celebration in Vancouver. A countdown and selfies on our hotel room's balcony overlooking the Vancouver skyline. That was a cheerful way of welcoming the New Year with the greatest hopes and aspirations.

We also welcomed the Chinese New Year in Vancouver Chinatown in late January 2023. It was a surprise to have met Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau waving and greeting people on a parade.

I've been celebrating the Chinese New Year for years, and it has never failed to give my family and me some luck and prosperity. In 2023, abundance is coming in, igniting optimism for greater hopes.

A Spirited Spring

I love Spring. It's the most loved season when everyone seems smiling and happy being outdoors after a long winter.

We traveled about two hours from home to spend our first Spring holiday in Harrison Hot Springs in the Fraser Valley. It's a healing place and highly revered by the local indigenous people. I felt the healing power of nature on its hot springs and probably the famous "Sasquatch" urban legend, a spiritual creature that has made several sightings documented.

Spring isn't complete without experiencing the Cherry Blossom Festival. This year, we celebrated it in Garry Point Park in Richmond and walked on a canopy of cherry trees.

It's nice to see couples, children, and families enjoying the colors and smell of the Cherry blossoms. It's one of the most beautiful gifts the Asian people gave to North America. And in Garry Point Park, hundreds of Cherry trees blossom magically.

There are more in Spring other than the Cherry blossoms. On May 22, 2023, celebrating Victoria Day, I had my first Rodeo experience at the Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair.

The best and award-winning cowboys and cowgirls in North America showcased their rodeo skills to thousands of spectators from British Columbia and other places in North America.

The Rodeo event teaches us about the livelihood and lifestyle of the great Cowboys and Ranchers. What we see in the game is what happens in the real world of Cattle and any livestock industry. Rodeo is not only fun, but it teaches us about patience, endurance, and perseverance.

When the Summer Comes

Summer is full of fun under the sun. It's excellent for outdoor activities anywhere. The first event we attended was the Pinoy Festival in Burnaby on June 25, 2023, at the beginning of summer.

The Pinoy Festival was the first and biggest Filipino cultural event in British Columbia, and we had the opportunity to meet and greet fellow Filipinos and watch their cultural performances.

It was also memorable to meet and hear the message of British Columbia Premier David Eby, who recognized the Filipino communities' significant contribution to the Province and the country.

Summer is best enjoyed when we travel a little bit far from home. On July 2, 2023, we drove an hour to Chilliwack to visit Minter Country Garden. We found the most extensive selection and display of trees, flowers, and ornamental plants there. We had lunch in their cafรฉ and bought the finest tea in their shop.

The garden has a relaxing ambiance, and it's worth the visit. I hope to return to buy some plants and bring a piece of nature at home.

On August 6, 2023, in the middle of summer, we discovered a lake in Coquitlam after failing to secure a parking spot on the beach we wished to visit. After almost two hours of searching for an alternative place, we finally settled and had a pleasant picnic day on Como Lake.

The place was surprisingly incredibly cooler than the rest of the metro, and the early fall foliage was evident. I like the residents' healthy lifestyle, which includes fitness walks, fishing, and outdoor games.

The best of Summer happened on my birthday when we went on a trip to Bowen Island, a 20-minute ferry ride from Vancouver. It's a romantic Island getaway that anyone can enjoy, even on a day trip.

We had a great time on a rocky shore in a marina just below the mountain, overlooking an Islet where small boats, jet skis, and ferries pass through.

It's a great feeling to unwind occasionally, and our Bowen Island trip was one of the most memorable birthday celebrations I've had. It was the best moment of contemplation and a heartfelt expression of gratitude for another year.

Fall in Love

The colors of the fall are truly magical. It gives a lovely vibe when trees change color and fall to the ground.

At the beginning of the fall, on September 30, 2023, we traveled to Lynn Canyon Park in North Vancouver to spend some time in nature.

The sound of the waterfalls was soothing to the senses as we crossed a suspension bridge leading to the trails. The water was the clearest I've seen up close on the stream. Several teens enjoyed jumping off the cliff and splashing in an emerald pool of water. We used the moment to take a deep breath and appreciate the breeze of nature.

A Sparkling Winter

British Columbia is known for its mild winter. But this year's season is warmer, and snowfall is not expected in the metro for the holidays and before the year ends.

Although we do not have a mountain resort adventure this holiday, we have enjoyed the sparkling lights of Christmas in the city.

Our Christmas shopping in Richmond was extraordinary. We took a picture of a massive Christmas tree while listening to a festive melody.

Our trip to the Vancouver Christmas Market was a wonderful experience. It feels like a real Christmas to be with happy and jolly people.

The most meaningful moment is Christmas day, and we celebrate it with joyful hope. We celebrated the mass and shared fun and laughter at a family gathering.

My family had the Merriest Christmas celebrations in my home country,  the Philippines. I may not be present, but they're always in my heart every Christmas.

The year 2023 has been a great year against all odds. We continue to hope and dream about beautiful things and meaningful lives. We continue to be grateful for all the blessings and graces we receive. We end the year with love shared with our loved ones. We end the year with peace and joy in our hearts.

Loss is one of the most painful human experiences, and we all go through the grieving process from denial to acceptance. That's life; we have to move on and continue to live our most remarkable life.

Life is precious and fragile. It's a God-given gift that we treasure. We have joyful memories and sorrowful moments. Despite what we've been through, we lift them to God, who gives us life.

It's my second Christmas celebration in Canada, unlike last year's white Christmas. It's warmer than usual and a bit tolerably cold that doesn't need a layer of clothes—a different experience than last year, with a new scenery and vibe.

However, the season's first snowfall was in early December, though it melted so fast the next day. That may be the first and last snowfall before the year ends, and so we enjoyed it before it was gone.

Christmas season in Canada may not be as jolly as in my home country, the Philippines. But our simple celebration here is meaningful and leaves a lasting memory to cherish.

Our trip to Vancouver Christmas Market was my first-ever experience of seeing and meeting people in a festive holiday ambiance and mood. It's a fabulous Christmas-themed village with surrounding skyscrapers, a scenic mountain backdrop, and coastal waters.

As Canada's most livable city, Vancouver always amazes me with its natural beauty and wonders. And the Christmas Market with the Vancouver skyline is a wonderful and festive experience this holiday season.

Christmas will always be in our hearts. It's the most significant moment in our lives to celebrate with gratitude and remain joyful in hope.

There will always be light that glows in our hearts, and we radiate it to people dear to us and the people we meet this holiday season. We are blessed and hopeful that things will be brighter and stronger than ever.

Family is forever, and yes, they are in the Philippines. I felt a little despondent on my first Christmas in Canada. It was not something I expected or wanted.

There's no 'Noche Buena' culture here, a tradition in the Philippines where families gather for a festive meal on Christmas Eve. It's quiet, and people prefer to be at home for some reason.

Is Christ present during our darkest times, when we feel down and don't feel good about ourselves?

There's more love in the Philippines during Christmas, so we dwell on our home country's most meaningful and memorable moments.

We feel good and brighten the darkness whenever we reminisce about the good Christmas moments.

Our family, no matter where they are, is a source of understanding and comfort. Christmas is the most special day of the year when we remember and talk to them. It's a time to share our joys and sorrows, our thoughts and feelings. Our family is our anchor, and their love and support make the distance feel a little less.

All I want this Christmas is to feel the presence of Christ. His love and the Holy Spirit to guide and lift me. Others may have forgotten and been blinded by their priorities, but we can't follow their path. They always have the choice to make beyond our control.

I still want to feel the bright side of Christmas, the joy and love that it brings. The ups and downs, the challenges and the loneliness, will always be there, but Christ will be in our hearts, guiding us through.

In his message this year, the Pope reminded us, "Even in dark times, never lose hope in God's love." It's a powerful reminder that there is always light, even in our darkest hour. This Christmas, let's hold on to this hope and let it guide us through the challenges we face.

Christmas is the most beautiful time of the year. We sing Christmas carols, receive gifts from our loved ones, and eagerly anticipate the magical gifts from Santa Claus.

Back then, on Christmas Eve in my home country, the Philippines, we celebrated mass together as a family and shared a meal for "Noche Buena." The joyous celebration, the warmth of family, and the shared love made it a truly special time.

As a grown-up adult, I still find meaning and joy in celebrating Christmas. This year, however, will be a different experience. It will be my first Christmas away from my family in the Philippines, my first Christmas in Canada.

Here at Lumagica in Surrey, Canada, it brings back wonderful memories of when I was a kid. The fascination with Christmas trees and lights, the joyful spirit of hearing Christmas carols, and the excitement of seeing Santa Claus are joyous celebrations that I'm thrilled to share with you all.

Lumagica is a magical light festival with a North Pole winter wonderland theme. It aims to attract families and give them a spectacular white Christmas.

Christmas is fun for the whole family, the
adults, and the little ones. But for the grown-ups, there's always that kid in us. We shout for joy; we genuinely enjoy!

Let this Christmas season bring back that glow in our faces and sparkle in our eyes like a child. Find the magical experience that Christmas brings. Find happiness and joy in our hearts.

This outdoor destination, located in Squamish, is one of the best places to visit in British Columbia. The breathtaking sea view from the sky and on top of the mountain is worth the experience. It's exhilarating and truly spectacular.

Let's explore this stunningly beautiful destination in Squamish, an hour's drive from North Vancouver, passing through the scenic sea-to-sky highway.

From the base station, The Sea to Sky Gondola is a 10-minute/ 2 km ride to the summit. You'll see the forested mountain and the beautiful turquoise waters of the sea (Howe Sound) as you ascend to a higher elevation until reaching the summit lodge, which offers the most spectacular view of the surrounding mountain, the valley, and the sea.

The summit lodge has restaurants and cafes for refreshments, which extend to the outdoor patio and viewing deck, offering a view of the magnificent snow-capped mountains.

The adventure never stops as you experience the surrounding trail network, passing through the 100-meter Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge. We walked through the most accessible trail (Spirit) and the best trail (Panorama), leading to the Chief Overlook Viewing Platform, where you can capture the best shots of the snow-capped mountain as a backdrop.

While some trails may take longer to explore, you'll always be aware of your surroundings, as all trails lead and end at the summit lodge viewing deck. The courses are designed for beginners and intermediates, ensuring a family-friendly hiking experience. With viewing areas and platforms for picture-taking, you can capture memorable moments without any difficulty.

The Sea to Sky Gondola is an adventure that never ends, with its appeal stretching across all seasons. Whether it's the hot, dry summer or the snowy, chilly winter, the nature trail and the viewing platforms are always alluring. Each season offers a unique perspective, making it worth revisiting throughout the year.

The land of the Squamish First Nation is home to the Sea to Sky Gondola. The Squamish protect and preserve the beauty of their heritage and share it with everyone. It's not just about fun and adventure but also about the rich culture, early beginnings, and evolution as a First Nation. Visitors can learn about their traditions, art, and history during their visit.

Sea to Sky Gondola is one of the most incredible adventures of a lifetime in British Columbia. It's a place to go and chill, an adventure by nature with a thrill.

We offer that glow to the world, the people around us, and everyone with whom we share our lives.
But we may stumble and fall at the darkest moment when the light moves away. We kneel, we crawl, and we can hardly stand tall.

In Richmond, British Columbia,
we've found the brightest place to remind us
to unleash our inner glow and become someone's dose of sunshine no matter what we can show. Before the summer ends, we travel to Richmond Country Farms, where the sunflower grows and truly glows.

At the Richmond Sunflower Festival, you'll discover a diverse array of Sunflowers on a sprawling 20-acre property of this family-owned country farm. This unique summer attraction boasts a maze that guarantees a fun challenge and a U-pick area where you can select and take home freshly handpicked Sunflowers.

Despite the challenges, the Richmond Sunflower Festival has continued to bloom, now in its fourth year since its inception just before the pandemic in 2019. This annual event has been a beacon of joy, bringing smiles to the faces of visitors during dark times.

Summer is a time for fun and outdoor enjoyment under the sun. Like the sunflowers on the farm, we too can rise and shine again, grow and glow up again, and find joy and love in life once more. The sunflowers serve as a powerful symbol of resilience and growth, inspiring us to keep moving forward.

This regional district, a unique part of mainland British Columbia, is accessible only by ferry and seaplane. It exudes an enchanting island vibe, with several small towns offering many activities to enjoy and hidden gems to explore.

After a 40-minute BC ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay in Vancouver, the road trip starts from the southern coast of Gibsons until we reach the heart of the Sunshine Coast the district municipality of Sechelt.

It's lovely weather to start the three-day birthday holiday. A warm sunny day that brightens up everyone's day. And our first stop is the sandy shore of Davis Bay in Sechelt. Its coastline offers a respite from a warm and dry summer. The sea breeze, the horizon, and the island views are perfect for a day of unwinding. We're beachin' and watching people surfin'.

As I reach another milestone, the beach is an ideal place to rejuvenate and plan for another year of discovery and adventure. The previous year may have been full of challenges, but I was able to surpass the trials along the way. And for this birthday celebration, all I want is a fresh start, to breathe in and out in front of the sea and release the obstacles behind.

If the sea is a powerful extractor of what's pulling us from getting what we want, I must release all the unwanted and feel a more revitalized and renewed being. It's a profound feeling of healing and connection. And if that heals, then I must make it a birthday tradition to go to the sea, walk on the sand, and bathe in the sun.

The Sunshine Coast may have a laid-back culture, but it's a vibrant community and a paradise to many, especially among outdoor enthusiasts. The array of activities, from water sports like paddle boarding, kayaking, boating, fishing, scuba diving, and kite surfing to inland activities like hiking, camping, golfing, and mountain climbing, promises an endless adventure.

Three days on the Sunshine Coast for a birthday holiday are not enough to experience all the exciting activities this place has to offer. But I'm already looking forward to coming back to explore and discover more of this paradise worth revisiting.

A road trip on a coastal highway, hiking on a forested trail, camping on a creekside, and a scenic walk in a waterfront park made my day. It was the best birthday on holiday. Sunshine Coast adventure all the way.
